Classical Art is commonly defined as art from western antiquity. This covers a wide variety of styles and mediums ranging from painting to sculpture to architecture and literature. When hearing classical art the first thing that comes to mind is ancient Greek sculpture.
Basically, Classical Art is an art form from Greece and Rome, which is associated with the classical period. In the Classical period, there was a revolution in Greek statuary, usually associated with the introduction of democracy and the end of the aristocratic culture associated with the kouroi. Classical art typically refers to anything that is not a part of the modern art world – which usually refers to anything older than the 1900s.
